About the event
Subramanyam opens the evening. Performing music in the Carnatic tradition, he has captivated audiences across the globe. With tones that shimmer with emotion and depth, he transforms the humble bamboo flute – an ancient, organic instrument – into a voice that sings to the soul.
He has led many ensembles and made guest appearances with renowned bands including John McLaughlin’s supergroup Remember Shakti, receiving a Grammy Award nomination, and performed with artists including Paco De Lucia, the late tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Ajoy Chakraborthy, to name just a few.
